Ceredigion's Welsh Liberal Democrat MP Mark Williams has called on the Labour/Plaid Welsh Assembly Government to give Ceredigion County Council more support to help it finance a peripatetic harp teacher for pupils in Ceredigion.

Mark Williams MP said: "As a result of the poor settlement which the Welsh Assembly Government gave to Ceredigion this year, each department has had to look very carefully at their budgets. The Education department alone has seen a reduction in its core budget of £1m over the past 2 years.

"What we need is bettter financial support from the Labour/Plaid Cardiff Bay administration to account for Ceredigion's rurality and the extra pressure that puts upon local services.

"If they give Ceredigion the better deal that we deserve, the decision made will only be a temporary one and the County Council will once again be able to finance a peripatetic harp teacher for our children throughout the county".
