Council's IT services stretched

INFORMATION technology services in Ceredigion County Council are severely stretched, it was claimed this week.
One person in the department is responsible for dealing with all IT requirements at all the county's primary schools, Cllr Ian ap Dewi, chairman of the education scrutiny committee told members of the authority's Cabinet yesterday.
"IT officers are under great pressure and are very stretched. Computers in schools are failing because of ongoing maintenance problems," he said.
The education committee is asking the Cabinet to investigate the problem.
