SHOULD people in Cardigan take more responsibility to keep their streets clean with local councils facing increasingly tight budgets?
A letter from a local resident complaining about street cleaning was forwarded to Ceredigion County Council by the town council but Cardigan mayor Cllr John Adams-Lewis suggested local people could be encouraged to take more responsibility if it was just a small job.
“I sent the complaint on to street cleaning services but what stops a person living there from doing it?” asked Cllr Adams-Lewis.
“People have to realise that the county council is not always able to do it. They have cleaned it but come on, people can take a brush out, it does not cost anything.
“Ceredigion have done it this time, so thanks for that.”
