THE weather may have taken a turn for the worse but it failed to dampen the spirits at Cenarth River Festival yesterday (Sunday, July 30).
Heavy rain and gale force winds overnight gave organisers a real headache but as one of the committee members pointed out ‘the show must go on’ and a good crowd still turned out to enjoy the day laid on by Cenarth Village Association on the banks of the River Teifi.
Newcastle Emlyn Rugby Club Choir, Ysgol Gynradd Cenarth and Dynamix Performing Arts School all provided musical entertainment.
Llandysul Paddlers provided a canoe demonstration on the falls, while Sioned Davies staged a fly fishing demonstration.
Gwern James was the winner of the art competition to design the cover for the festival programme.
The dog show once again proved very popular, while a big crowd lined the river banks for the annual coracle race and the duck race.
