FORMER Cardigan town mayor Cllr Richard Jones has handed over a cheque for £1,500 to Cardigan Carnival Committee.
The money came from the Mayor’s Fund during his year in office and will go towards enhancing the community spirit that the carnival brings to the town.
The committee has again laid on a packed programme of events following the revival of the carnival last year.
It all kicks off with an It’s a Knockout competition at Cardigan Show on Saturday, August 4.
Other planned events include a family treasure hunt, bingo, teddy bear’s picnic, kids’ fun day, quiz and beer barrel race.
It all culminates with the carnival procession through town on Saturday, August 11, followed by the judging at King George V Playing Field.
