BANNERS depicting St Dogmaels and the Orchard Project are currently on show at the Coach House in the village.

The three banners have been designed as part of Hanes Llandoch 10th anniversary celebrations and have been made by young people from the Area 43 charity at Pontycleifion in Cardigan.

The Coach House secured a grant from the Laura Ashley Foundation for textile-based projects and then commissioned Area 43 to carry out the work so as to include young people in the scheme.

Area 43 youth worker Becky Simmons said: “We went on various visits and did a lot of research to understand the brief and then the young people came up with the design elements.

“One of the banners focuses on the work of the Orchard Project, with the ideas behind it including the old Abbey apple trees, pollination, bees and cider making.

“The other two banners generally feature things associated with St Dogmaels itself.”

In total, the project took six months to pull together and around 30 youngsters were involved, with nine of them earning accredited qualifications for their work on the banners.
