AN exceptional evening of entertainment was held on Friday, June 8 when arguably some of Wales’ best voices were brought together in a concert by Newcastle Emlyn town’s twinning committee at Coracles Leisure Park, Cenarth.
Leading the impressive line-up was tenor Aled Wyn Davies, baritone Gwyn Morris, mezzo soprano Gwennan Jones and Cor Meibion Ar Ol Tri.
Newcastle Emlyn’s very own Ceri Davies also performed an outstanding ballad with Gwennan Jones.
Compere for the evening was Ceri Wyn Jones, head bard, while Dewi Davies, Blaengwyddon was president.
Cefin Evans, who is a member of the committee as well as this year’s town mayor, thanked all of the people and businesses who had contributed to making the evening so successful.
Proceeds will go to the Newcastle Emlyn–Plonovez Porzay twinning association, which is making arrangements for this year’s visit to Newcastle Emlyn in August.
