THERE will be no criminal charges over the death of a two-year-old girl who died when the car she was in rolled into the River Teifi at Cardigan.

Kiara Moore was found in the river near Cardigan Bridge on March 21 only days before her third birthday. She was airlifted to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

She had been left in the family's silver Mini while it was parked on a slipway. It had originally been reported that the car had been stolen with Kiara inside.

Dyfed-Powys Police launched an investigation into the incident.

A police statement last week said: “The police investigation into the death of Kiara Moore has concluded. There will be no charges in relation to this tragic incident.”

An inquest has been opened into her death by Ceredigion coroner Peter Brunton and has been adjourned to a later date.
