HAS your pet pooch got that certain star quality? If so, then ‘Pup Idol’ could be for you and your canny canine.

Dynamix Performing Arts School will be holding doggy auditions at Llechryd’s Coracle Hall on Sunday, June 3 from 11am-1pm to find a four-legged star for its forthcoming production of the smash-hit musical Oliver!

Dogs of all breeds, shape, size and colour can apply to try out for the role of Bullseye, who will perform alongside local stars Benjamin Davies and Aaron Makepeace who share the title role.

School principal Laura Gilbert said: “Aspiring dog stars will need a calm personality, to be obedient, and be comfortable and suitably behaved around children.”

The dog selected will need to be available for each of the three shows on July 14, 15 and 16 at cardigan’s Theatr Mwldan, alongside rehearsals prior to the show.

“During the audition, director Adam Gilbert will meet the dogs and run through a little of the show to test their suitability and along with other members of the panel, will select one lucky pet,” said Laura.

“We encourage owners who feel their pet meets the requirements to apply and give them the chance to shine.”

Dog owners who are interested are urged to get in touch before June 2 to secure an audition slot for their potential star pooch.
