MEGAN-HAF Turner, a pupil at Ysgol Gynradd Eglwyswrw, organised a coffee morning in the village to raise money for the charity JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and raise awareness Type 1 Diabetes in children.
Megan was diagnosed herself last year but is coping very well and wanted to give something back for the support she received when diagnosed.
As well as having plenty of cakes and biscuits to offer on the day, there was a raffle with lots of great prizes thanks to people's kind donations, a ‘guess the name of the zebra’ stand and a bric-a-brac table-top sale where Megan donated many of her old toys and books to raise even more money.
With the help of her family and friends and the amazing support from the community, a total of £362 was raised and with more donations coming in from people who could not make it on the day, the grand total raised came to £475.
Megan and her family would like to thank everyone who supported and made it such a great success.
