POLICE have launched an investigation after the bodies of a man and a woman were found on the coastal path in Ceredigion yesterday (Wednesday April 4).

The bodies were discovered last night near New Quay and the deaths are being treated as ‘unexplained’.

It is understood the discovery came after a police search which also involved the New Quay lifeboat and Coastguard, along with a search and rescue helicopter.

A police state said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating the sudden deaths of two people, whose bodies were found on the coastal path near New Quay on the evening of Wednesday, April 4.

“The man and woman had been reported missing earlier in the day.

Next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with the families at this time. The deaths are being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.”
