CEREDIGION residents are being warned to be on the alert for scam callers claiming to be from ‘the local council’.
Ceredigion county councillor Dafydd Edwards said: “It’s vitally important to raise Ceredigion residents’ awareness and for them to be both apprehensive and aware of these scam calls. If you receive a call of this nature, report it immediately.
“If you receive a call from anyone claiming to be from the council and have any suspicions whatsoever about the caller or the nature of the call, take the caller’s name and call Ceredigion County Council’s customer contact centre on 01545 570881.
“Ceredigion County Council encourages residents to share this message with elderly or vulnerable friends or relatives. Remember if it sound too good to be true, it's usually a scam.”
