AN Easter holiday trip to the Ceredigion coast proved particularly expensive for the driver of an Audi TT.
Ceredigion Roads Policing Unit seized the car - which had not been taxed for the past six months – on Bank Holiday Monday. They also issued a prohibition notice on the vehicle because of two defective front tyres.
The driver now faces penalty points, fines and court costs and the cost of towing away the car – plus two new front tyres.
Two drivers are also facing court appearances on drink-drive charges following two separate accidents on the night of April 1-April 2.
The Roads Policing Unit also stopped two cars for having no MOTS and another for no insurance – the second time in two years the same driver and vehicle had been stopped for an identical offence. Under the totting up procedure, that driver is now facing disqualification.
