CARDIGAN Classic Car Club has been invited to exhibit a selection of classic cars at the prestigious Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

It has been a long-term ambition of the Cardigan club, initially inspired by Neal Jones seven years ago, to feature a Welsh club at the show, which this year runs from March 23-25.

Several club members have completed full nut and bolt restorations of early vintage cars from the 20’s to more modern classics from the 80’s, all to very high standards.

There has been a lot of debate at club meetings to decide which members’ cars to exhibit at the NEC.

The organisers and sponsors of the show require clubs to feature a maximum of three vehicles, including restored cars as well as those still being worked on.

The club will therefore be exhibiting and working on a rare six-cylinder Triumph Scorpion side valve engine from the 1930’s. In addition, two beautifully restored club members’ cars will also feature on the stand.

These are a very rare 1958 Morris Isis saloon and a national award-winning Morris Minor Million, notable for its traditional and unique lilac paintwork and white leather seats.

Club chairman Neal Jones said: “This is a real coup for our club because we believe no other Welsh club has ever been invited before, and it is a chance to show off the fantastic skills and restoration talents of people from this area.”

More information is available on the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration web site and also on the club’s own site, www.cardiganclassiccarclub.com.

The club welcomes all car enthusiasts whether or not you own a classic car. To participate in club events, all you need is a car that is no longer in production
