A 39-YEAR-old woman who assaulted a police officer and who was also found in possession of drugs must pay nearly £750 in fines, compensation and costs.
Sara Louise Bate, of The Beeches, Llandysul, admitted assaulting a police officer in Aberystwyth on June 29 last year when she appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
She also pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to a police van in Llandysul on the same date, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and also being in possession of a quantity of class A drug diamorphine in Llandysul on June 26.
Bate had previously denied all the charges but changed her plea when she reappeared before the bench.
Magistrates fined her £108 for the assault, along with £150 compensation.
For the criminal damage, Bate was handed another fine of £108 and ordered to pay £96 compensation. She was fined £54 for being in possession of drugs and the drugs were ordered to be destroyed.
No separate penalty was added for the disorderly conduct.
Bate also has to pay costs totalling £200 and a £30 victim surcharge, taking the total to £746.
