ALL’S well that ends well for Cassie the Bavarian Mountain Hound after she went missing along the coastal path in Ceredigion only to be found safe and well 24 hours later.

The two-year-old dog had been out for a walk with holidaying owners Mark Kemp and his partner Aimee Hayes between Penbryn and Llangrannog on Thursday afternoon (February 15) when she ran off after being scared by another dog.

An appeal was put out on Facebook to find her which was shared thousands of times and dozens of locals joined the search.

Mark and Aimee searched throughout the night and were finally rewarded around lunchtime today when they returned to where Cassie went missing and spotted her stuck in a small cove.

The Coastguard cliff rescue team and New Quay RNLI were both called out.

“The RNLI managed to coax her off the cliffs and get her on board their boat. We could not be happier,” said Mark.

“I cannot thank the local people enough for helping to look for Cassie and for the support they gave us. They were out there at 2am at low tide with us looking for her. It’s fantastic and it restores your faith in human nature. I’d also like to say a massive thank you to the Coastguard and RNLI.

“Cassie is fine and has been getting loads of cuddles,” added Mark, as they headed back home to Oxford.
