LLANDYSUL Gardening Weekend event is held on February 16-18 at Tysul Hall Llandysul and is now a major attraction in the Teifi Valley drawing visitors from a wide area.

The event offers an opportunity to both novice and the very experienced gardener and grower to start planning for the spring.

Admission is free, parking is available in the village car park and coaches are welcome.

The event is organised by Llandysul and Pont-tyweli Ymlaen, Llandysul Community Council and Farmyard Nurseries.

Llandysul & Pont Tyweli Ymlaen is a limited company created to regenerate the communities of Llandysul in Ceredigion and Pont Tyweli in Carmarthenshire.

The company has a board of directors made up of local business people who give their time voluntarily to the benefit of the community.

They employ one full time employee and one part time.

Llandysul & Pont Tyweli Ymlaen help organise different activities in the locality, including the Gardening Weekend, the Walking Festival in September and the Christmas Fair in November. 

One of the company's main areas of development has been the Dolen Teifi Community Transport, set up to help groups access transport otherwise not available to them.

Dolen Teifi now has more than 180 groups registered as users and is fortunate to have many volunteer drivers who give their time to help these registered groups.

J L Jones Approved Coal Merchants - formerly known as J L Jones and Son - was founded more than 90 years ago and is now owned by Fiona Roderick, who bought the company when Wyn Lewis Jones (the son of J L Jones) retired at the time of the construction of Llandysul By-Pass.

Fiona had previously worked for the company for 21 years.

The company has always enjoyed an excellent reputation for caring customer service, getting coal to its customers in difficult weather conditions, and supplying quality Welsh coal, logs, kindling and bottled gas to clients over a 25-mile radius.
