WITH a UK ban on new diesel and petrol cars coming into place in 2040, an event in North Pembrokeshire invites you to look at the alternatives.

Neil Lewis - Wales’ very own “go to” electric car guru, owner and enthusiast - will be at Canolfan Hermon Community Resource Centre later this month with his car to pass on all you need to know about becoming an electric vehicle user.

The event on Wednesday October 25 will show that electric vehicles are a user friendly current technology but will also look around the corner to see what else you might be driving by presenting the latest hydrogen vehicles that are now on the UK’s roads.

Daniel Blackburn, from Pembrokeshire’s Veg Oil Motoring, bizarrely, will be persuaded to stop talking about running vehicles on refined used cooking oil and will instead present a users guide to hydrogen vehicles.

Daniel is fresh from touring Scotland, in his veg oil powered vehicle, learning about the hydrogen vehicles and the infrastructure which is now in place there to deliver this new motoring future.

It is hoped that Riversimple - Wales’ only hydrogen car manufacturer - will also present details of their “Tomorrow’s World” hydrogen vehicle.

The event at Canolfan Hermon Community Resource Centre will start at 7.45pm.

This is an open event organised by Supporting Resilient Renewable Communities but contact Daniel Blackburn on 01239 698768 if you hope to attend to give the organisers an idea of numbers.

A separate workshop will be held at 5.30pm prior to this event on establishing electric car clubs with the support of the Robert Owen Community Bank Fund. Attendance at this separate workshop will only be available by pre-booking with Daniel.
