PROPOSALS are being looked at to make a street in Cardigan one-way.

Ceredigion highways officials are looking at making College Row, next to the Guildhall, a one-way road and to widen the pavement and the idea is being put out to consultation.

Cardigan Town Council has also been told that there are also plans to pedestrianise the narrow part of Bathhouse Road where it runs past Theatr Mwldan.

Cllr John Adams Lewis: “Drivers will still be able to reach the car parks by going up to the roundabout. They looked at doing a similar scheme about 10 years ago.”

Cllr Catrin Miles again raised safety concerns about the road down from Pendre to Mwldan.

“There is no pavement on the right and many schoolchildren go down there and it is dangerous. We have raised this before and I think it should still be on the agenda.”

Concerns were also raised over parking on the road down to Mwldan.

Cllr Miles also returned to issues of speeding by Ridegway roundabout and promised to keep raising the issue with the Welsh Government. She said: “It is important that we keep pressing on this issue as there is no pavement either way.

“I am especially worried when the show is on as not everyone catches the bus and people do walk on the road around there.”
