MOTORISTS are being warned to take extra care on the roads in the Tivyside area today with lots of standing water on the roads and localised flooding due to very heavy rain.
This was the scene that greeted one motorist at Ponthirwaun village this morning. Cardigan Neighbourhood Policing Team put out a warning asking drivers to be careful.
There were reports of flooding on the B4333 between Aberporth and Newcastle Emlyn.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews had been called to 12 incidents in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion on Friday morning.
It followed an intense band of heavy showers which is set to move south.
There were reports of flash flooding in North Pembrokeshire from St Dogmaels and Abercych to Llanfyrnach potentially affecting properties.
The problem was linked to blocked gullies or drainage system unable to cope with amount of rain.
