NEWCASTLE Emlyn duo Pamela Atterbury and Shelagh McDonald have been fundraising again - this time for the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team and the St David’s Hospice.
They joined more than 600 people of all ages to take part in the Moon Walk, walking up Pen y Fan Mountain at night to the summit, which is South Wales’ highest mountain.
Mum of two Shelagh said: “We had signed up over four months ago to raise funds for the two charities and people have been so kind donating, even more so over the last few weeks or so with so many river deaths which Brecon Mountain Rescue Team were a part of.”
The walk took Pamela and Shelagh just over an hour and a half with a stop at the top and they raised around £300.
The pair try to do something each year to help different charities. Last year they raised £600 for Cancer Research UK by taking part in the Moonshine Walk in London and they are already planning next year’s event for the Stroke Society.
