A CARDIGAN man has been banned from driving for 17 months and will have to pay almost £1,000 in costs and fines after pleading guilty to drink-driving.
Anthony Lee Bennett, of Felin Ban Estate, Cardigan, was stopped on the A487 on April 9, while driving a Vauxhall Vivaro. He had 60 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Bennett, aged 47, had originally denied the offence before changing his plea. Magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre banned him from driving for 17 months, fined him £165 and ordered him to pay £800 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
