FOUR US students from Humboldt County in Northern California have arrived in Cardigan.

Jonny Wisan, Moriah Nelson, Trinity Carter and Alexandra Carter will be helping out with others from Mt Zion Baptist Church at the annual CCiW camp near Tywyn.

Andy Glennie, from Mt Zion, said: "'In 1991 we took six of the youth group from Mount Zion Baptist Church to a summer camp run by CCiW (Christian Camps in Wales). This year we will be taking 37 young people from the Cardigan area."

Kayaking, gorge walking, paint balling, high ropes, mountain walks are all included in a fun-filled week. The chaplain and tent officers also talk about what it means for a young person to follow Jesus.

This is Jonny's third year being a tent officer at the camp. He likes it so much in Wales, he is taking the year off to become an intern at Mt Zion.

The pastor of Mt Zion, Rob Filgate said “We are excited to have Jonny join the internship this year. He will be joining three other young people and I'm sure they will have a fantastic year studying, serving in the church and working with the youth of Cardigan."
