PERSONAL fitness trainer David Maund of Newcastle Emlyn and Lorriane Hughes Gage completed the Ceredigion Coastal Path from Cardigan to Ynys Las in one hit over 24 hours
They cracked their tough fund-raising challenge in 23 hours, walking the 60 miles during the day and night as they were joined by several supporters along the way.
“It was a tough challenge. We left Cardigan before 9am on Saturday and arrived in Ynys Las at 8am on Sunday. The weather was a complete mixture with rain and sun, and we had a few hair raising moments on the cliff tops with horrific winds, but we did it,” said David,. who hopes to raise £500.
He was cheered on along the way by people in various villages and his aim now is to walk the coastal path the other way – from Ynys Las to Cardigan and raise more funds for the Breast Care Unit, Llanelli and the swimming pools in Narberth, Aberaeron and Newcastle Emlyn.
David recently completed the 60-mile Jurassic Coast Challenge from Weymouth to Dorset.
