A SECOND public meeting on the future of Cardigan Swimming Pool looks unlikely.

Calls have been made by several residents concerned about the pool but the trustees have rejected the idea and Cardigan Town Council has now been told a meeting would serve no useful purpose.

Cllr Catrin Miles, the council’s representative on the pool committee, said: “The last public meeting raised matters that were completely confidential and we don’t want that happening again.

“If people want to come to the pool and discuss any matters that’s fine but if people want to go into detail on staffing matters that is confidential and cannot be discussed at a public meeting. People had a chance to put their ideas at the previous meeting.”

Cllr John Adams-Lewis said people had asked him about the idea of holding a meeting and he was “disappointed” that their request had been refused.

Cllr Miles added: “I think we are keeping everyone in the loop and they are always welcome to discuss matters with the trustees.”
