AN ANGRY passenger has hit out at a change in the bus timetable which means he now struggles to get to work in Crymych.

The man, who does not want to be named, used to catch the T5 Haverfordwest to Aberystwyth service at Newport into Cardigan and then catch the 430 service, which left Cardigan at 9.30am to head towards Narberth.

However, the 430’s departure has now been brought forward 15 minutes to 9.15am, meaning the man misses his connection by 10 minutes.

“I had no idea it was changing and I was stuck but was fortunate that I could ring someone to collect me. Another man waiting with me had to get a taxi,” he said.

“What possible motive could they have for changing the time for the bus leaving Cardigan?

“I always used to have a few minutes to spare to catch the bus but now it’s impossible. It just does not make any sense at all.”

A spokesman for Pembrokeshire County Council said: “The change to the 430 timetable was made at the start of April to enable the service to connect with the 381 service in Narberth, thus enabling journeys to Haverfordwest and to Tenby.

“The bus service changes were advertised on the buses and along with updated timetables at bus stops and on the council’s website.

“While the 0845 hours bus from Fishguard no longer arrives at Cardigan in time for the 430 bus, there is the 0748 hours bus which does arrive in Cardigan at 0825 hours, although we appreciate that this is significantly earlier.”
