A 43-YEAR-OLD man is in a critical condition in hospital following an accident on the A484 last night (Tuesday May 23).
Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating the collision which took place on the stretch of road between Cenarth and Newcastle Emlyn at approximately 4.40pm.
Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service used cutting gear, hydraulic spreaders and winches to free the man following the crash.
The driver was airlifted to hospital.
The vehicle involved was a dark-coloured Volvo V40. The road was closed for more than five hours as emergency services attended the scene before reopening at 10.15pm.
Police are appealing for witnesses and ask anyone with information about the collision to call 101.
