GET ready to paddle as the clock is ticking down to the fifth Newcastle Emlyn charity raft race which has raised thousands of pounds for local charities.
This year’s race will be held in the town on Saturday, May 27 starting at 2pm. Following the race, a charity auction, raffle and barbecue will be held in the Plough Hotel – all are welcome.
All money raised will go towards local charities, the fire service and St John Ambulance who provide safety and first aid cover on the day.
Katherine Rich, one of the organisers, said: “We are hoping to get about eight rafts. It is all in a good cause and raising money for local charities is something really close to my heart.
“Over the past few years we have raised about £6,000.”
