A BRITISH Heart Foundation Cymru group in Bronant has raised nearly £2,000 in the past 12 months to help fight for every heartbeat.

Shirley Lloyd, member of the group, said: “We hold the events at the Bridge Inn and the community of Bronant are so generous and support BHF Cymru.’

There are four members in the group which include Shirley and Brian Lloyd, Bronwen Davies and Olwen Hazelgrave and they have organised several events in the village of Bronant which include wear red days and they have also held several raffles for BHF Cymru.

Jayne Lewis, BHF Cymru’s local fundraising manager, said: “I would like to thank the new Bronant fundraising group for all their hard work. The amount the group and branches raise is considerable and helps us to fight for every heartbeat.

“With one in four people dying of heart disease in Wales, and more than 350,000 living with its burden there is still much more we need to know about how to stop this devastation.

“Funds raised by our supporters locally will help us in this fight, Our research journey over the last 50 years has been phenomenal. Until research provides all the answers, we are committed to supporting heart patients and their families to get the best possible care and advice.”
