LLANGOEDMOR Community Council held its annual chairman’s dinner at Cardigan Golf Club.

Retiring chairman Cllr Gareth Evans thanked councillors and staff for their support during his year as chairman which completed his service on the council, as he was standing down in May. He said he had very much enjoyed his time serving his community but felt the time had come to enjoy his retirement years.

Vice-chairman Cllr Bryan noted that Cllrs Gareth Evans, Peter Hazzelby, Colin Lewis and Mrs Jina Hawkes, all standing down from the council in May, had more than 100 years of experience between them and he was quick to reassure the council that the experience was not lost to the council or community, as all the retiring councillors were more than happy to be contacted for information or advice.

He also thanked county councillor Haydn Lewis, who was standing down after many years’ service to the community.

Vice-chairman Cllr Bryan Rees proposed a vote of thanks to all the retiring councillors and presented each of them with a framed certificate of thanks from the communities of Llangoedmor and Llechryd.
