A CARDIGAN B&B has been awarded the prestigious AA Guest Accommodation of the Year award for Wales 2016/17.

There were smiles all round when David and Beverley Harrison-Wood from the five star Caemorgan Mansion Guest House, off Caemorgan Road in Cardigan, collected their top prize.

David and Beverley were nominated by AA Inspectors who inspect and rate more than 2,300 B&Bs throughout the United Kingdom.

The awards, presented at the annual ceremony at the London Landmark Hotel, include guest accommodation for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Beverley Harrison-Wood said: “This award is probably the most important recognition Caemorgan Mansion and its small team has received. In only its third year of operation since a complete refurbishment we are really honoured to receive such an accolade from the AA.”

Peter Laigaard Jensen, head of AA hotel & hospitality services, said: “To run a bed & breakfast is a very personal thing and it takes a lot of dedication as well as passion and with such great establishments from all over the United Kingdom, it only confirms the strength and depth that the B&B market has to offer.

“Each of these B&Bs offer great hospitality and are passionate about giving their guests the best possible experience during their stay.”

Caemorgan Mansion is a Georgian mansion on the edge of Cardigan. Bought in a derelict state, the owners have breathed new life into the property and it is now fully refurbished and they are proud of their green credentials with biomass for all underfloor heating and hot water, all LED lighting and an emphasis on recycling.

Not only do guests benefit from luxury accommodation but also an acclaimed AA rosette restaurant.
