Over the years Costcutter League club St Dogmaels has gained a big reputation for pulling out all the stops to assist injured players and other people in the community with problems.
And the practice is continuing with players, officials and supporters rallying round to help 24-year-old attacking fullback Chris Jones who suffered a fractured right fibula in a cup tie against Newcastle Emlyn at School Field earlier this month.
Fund-raising for the popular player begins this Sunday with a car wash at the BV Rees car salesroom at the old Coal Yard site on the banks of the Teifi in the village. The event starts at 9am with people from all walks of life expected to support the event and have their vehicles in sparkling condition.
St Dogmaels first team manager Steve Jerry Williams said: "As well as the car wash there are other events in the pipeline to help Chris."
