VILLAGERS in St Dogmaels are being given the chance to learn CPR and how to use a defibrillator.

The free session organised by the community council takes place on Wednesday May 3 at 7.30pm, meeting in the village car park followed by a hands-on session in the Memorial Hall.

There are 20 places available on a first come, first served basis, with further courses to be arranged if there is sufficient interest.

St Dogmaels currently has one defibrillator situated at the toilets in the car park. It was donated to the village by Tesco about a year ago and money has also been set aside by the community council to install another one.

Effective CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator will greatly increase the survival chance of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest.
