WALKERS in Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire have been asked to look out for a missing sailor.

Ninety-year-old Arthur ‘Archie’ Taylor, from Manchester, took out his boat from Gwbert boat club, outside Cardigan, on Saturday morning and was then reported missing later that day.

An extensive air and sea search was launched and Mr Taylor’s empty dinghy was found but he is still missing.

Dyfed-Powys police are still asking for help to find Mr Taylor. An appeal to the public for photographs and video footage taken along the coast at and near Gwbert produced several responses but none of the pictures were of Mr Taylor’s boat.

If you were in this area and have photographs or video footage of a small single person dinghy in the sea, please send to ContactCentre@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting incident reference 251 of 15/04

Sgt Gareth Jones has also asked walkers on the coastal path around New Quay, Cardigan and Newport to look out for any signs of the missing man.

Mr Taylor is 5’4” and of slim build. He has grey hair and was last seen wearing a navy jumper and dark grey waterproof jacket. His family continue to be supported by local officers.
