THE clock is fast ticking down to Newcastle Emlyn’s Vintage Day which promises a fun day out for all the family

The town will come alive to vintage vehicles, stalls, live music and other displays on Saturday, April 22, from 10am-4pm.

Organisers from the town’s traders say they have had a good response, with interest and applications from three local car clubs and private individuals to ensure a varied selection of vehicles arriving on the day.

Of particular interest to many will be the tractors which again have shown a strong entry, especially with the old favourites such as the Ferguson.

Dale Harrison will be found wandering the streets and in shops performing magic tricks while there will be music performed by local musicians in the buskers’ booth.

Emlyn Antiques is to hold a valuation day and people are invited to bring along any treasures they may have had stashed away in the attic to be assessed.

Ruth Rowland, of Ruby’s Yard, will be giving practical demonstrations throughout the day on how to up-cycle your furniture.

Rowan Tree Natural Healing clinic will be open and you are invited to call in and have a chat and perhaps have a taster session with one of their treatments.

A varied selection of stalls will be on the street including clothes from Paris Texas Vintage, face painting and Fair Trade fun and games for the kids from Fair and Fabulous.

Vintage teas will be available at The Emlyn Hotel throughout the day. To book a table in advance please contact them on 01239 710317.

A particular feature of the day is that one lucky lady will be having a complete makeover courtesy of Talking Heads Hair Salon, Ededa J Exclusive Ladies’ Wear and Elin Fflur make-up artist. The big reveal will take place from 4pm at the Emlyn Hotel. Raffle tickets are still available for what is a fantastic prize up to April 13).

The main raffle for prizes given by the town businesses will also be drawn at this time.
