Skanda Vale hospice, which offers which offers care and support for adults with life-limiting illnesses, is to host an open day, where visitors will be able to see the new building and gardens, and learn about volunteering opportunities.

Set up in 1993 as a home-care service, the hospice developed an in-patient unit and day care centre for patients from Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire at Saron in March 2016.

Volunteers hope to extend the current inpatient respite service from five days a month to ten this year and offer 24/7 respite and end of life care in 2018.

However, the move will require an increase to the hospice list of volunteers.

The open day is due to take place on Thursday, March 30, from 2pm until 8pm.
