Residents at Maes Llewellyn Residential Care Home in Newcastle Emlyn were delighted to receive a surprise visit from a Christmas elf and his furry friend on Christmas Eve.
Jockey Caleb Davies of Bryngwyn pulled on his festive outfit and took his Shetland Pony, Thor, to see the residents.
The visit was organised by part-time care worker Sophie Spiteri.
Tivyside Pony Club member Caleb, aged nine, regularly competes his pony, given to him as a Christmas present three years ago and hopes to race him in the Shetland Grand National next year.
“Although we knew the pony would be good going into the home and visiting people, we didn't know how we would get him upstairs or how he would react in a lift," said Elizabeth, Caleb’s mum.
"But he was amazing and went straight in the lift and didn't seem worried about anything. He really is one in a million."
The residents fed Thor carrots as he visited various lounges and bedrooms.
