TWO brothers from Synod Inn have been inspired by their stepdad’s fundraising ventures to raise money for a charity.
Trystan (11) and eight-year-old Rhydian Thomas, both pupils at Ysgol Bro Teifi, will cycle three miles on November 19 to raise money for Children in Need.
The route will take them along the Cwmins in Aberaeron to Llanerchaeron and across National Trust land and they hope that the money raised will be used to help children less fortunate than themselves.
“Their stepfather John Barrett spent five months in Africa helping to set up Scout Camps whilst raising money for Street Child and for Ebola victims, and his work there has inspired the boys to raise money themselves,” said mum Amy.
“I’m proud that they have decided to raise funds and off their own backs.
"I’m glad they recognise that a lot of children won’t get as much as they will for Christmas and are mindful that some children won’t have the basics such as food and water let alone any toys.”
Trystan and Rhydian will start their cycle at 10am, and hope to arrive at their destination later that day.
There will be a charity box at the Corner Shop, New Quay, if anyone wishes to make a donation.
