A COMMUNITY transport service has been set up offering a bespoke community car scheme for residents living in and around the Teifi Valley area.

The Dolen Teifi Community Transport scheme is tailored for disabled and older people who have difficulties accessing public transport.

The service provides a flexible, door to door, transport option for local people who need to make essential journeys. Types of journeys will include hospital, dental and GP appointments. Depending on availability other essential journeys would be considered.

The service, called Bws Bro Bach, is a four-seat, fully accessible vehicle with one wheelchair space, which is driven by volunteer drivers.

The service provides a safe, accessible, cost-effective transport solution, run by the community.

Bws Bro Bach is only available on days and times when volunteer drivers are available and is a seven-day per week service.

To be able to use this service, members of the public must first become a member. Lifelong membership costs £2. The cost of travel is 69p per mile.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer driver and requiring further information on volunteering or just wishing to know more about the service can call either Rod or Ann on 01559 362403.
