Help light up Cardigan for Christmas by taking part in one of the free lantern making workshops at Small World Theatre in Cardigan.

The workshops on October 16, November 13 and November 20 are part a new project called ‘Creative Cardigan’ that is launching a Festive Fortnight in December. This project is funded by the Welsh Government through Visit Wales’ Tourism Product Innovation Fund which aims to encourage partnership working and innovative ideas which will have a greater impact and attract more visitors.

The organisers hope that everyone has the chance to make a lantern so they can join a giant parade through the streets and be part of an evening spectacular on Friday, December 9 from 7pm – 8pm.

On that night Cardigan’s many shops will be open for late night shopping.

The evening culminates in a breath taking firework display at Prince Charles Quay at 8pm.

Workshops will be fun, creative and accessible to all ages and abilities.

The theme of the giant lantern parade centres around the first Eisteddfod, but it will also be inspired by festive decorations.

It is hoped that a few giant group lanterns will feature and some of these will be displayed in the town after the parade.

Not only will the lanterns light up the town, but everyone will be able to take their lantern home after the parade in time for Christmas.

Small World Theatre would like people to book ahead by contacting them on 01239 615 952 from Tuesday to Friday between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
