Members of the crew from Cardigan Fire Brigade will be undertaking a sponsored walk in order to help fund treatment for a toddler suffering from a rare childhood cancer.
Each crew member will be wearing full fire kit and a breathing apparatus set, with a combined weight of 18 kilos, as they walk from Newport to Cardigan on November 12 to raise funds to help two-year-old Eliza Donnelly
Cardigan Watch Manager John Mitchell said the brigade had organised the walk as a way to show their thanks for the support they have received from the community with their own fundraising efforts.
Thanks to public backing, the Cardigan station had been able to purchase a new co-responder vehicle which would be arriving in the near future.
Anyone wishing to support or contribute can find sponsorship forms at Keith Davies, Family Butchers and Hair Lounge for Men.
