Local school girl, Ffion Evans had made lasting impression on award-winning writer, Neil Bromage.

Neil, author of How I Became a Highly Paid Writer, hosted a three-day creative writing course at the Penrallt Country House Hotel.

Ffion Evans, age 11 made an left her mark on the course and was the youngest person to attend the course.

“I was really impressed by Ffion’s writing ability at such a young age. She was the only young person to attend the course and was working with some very talented writers which could have been quite daunting, but she just knuckled down and got on with it. Ffion has a great imagination and isn’t afraid to write it down. She definitely has a bright future ahead of her,” said Neil Bromage.

Ffion, described as very academic by her mum, begged her mum to let her join the course after reading about it in the paper.

Lynda Summers, Ffion’s mum, comments: “Ffion loves to write and when she heard there was an award winning writer coming to the Penrallt Hotel she pleaded with me to get her on the course. Ffion was by far the youngest and as all the other participants were adults so I was a little apprehensive.”

Ffion is now working on her own writing piece for a school project, demonstrating the new skills she learned from Neil’s course.

She said: “The course was great, Neil is so nice, all the people on course were so nice and I learned loads.”
