COLEG Ceredigion is offering 15-18 year olds free workshops in various topics to give them a taster of the skills and training available to them.

The ‘Discovery Day’ two-day event takes place over the forthcoming half term week, with the first held on the Aberystwyth campus on February 16 and in Cardigan on February 17.

Participants can choose two topics - one for the morning session and a second topic for the afternoon session. Participants can also choose the same topic for both sessions if they so wish, subject to available places.

At the Aberystwyth campus (February 16) you can choose from: film editing; digital photography; professional cookery; and childcare.

While on the Cardigan campus (February 17) you can choose from: furniture making, design and restoration; brickwork; computer animation; and hair and beauty.

All the workshops take place at the college’s state of the art facilities under the supervision of the Coleg Ceredigion’s professional teaching staff.

Lunch will be provided for free.

Rhys Huws from Coleg Ceredigion said: “This is a great opportunity for young people to see the variety of training opportunities available on their doorstep.

"We hope these workshops will give young people the chance to try their hand at various skills to help them decide on on a suitable pathway towards their desired career path.”

Candidates must call 01239 612032 or 01970 639700 to take advantage of these popular workshops by securing a place today.

The closing date for applications is February 10.
