The New Quay Walkers group have had a busy time following Christmas.

The group had a post Christmas ramble in the New Quay area on Monday, December 28 to work off the Christmas excesses.

Morlais Davies led a group of twenty people on a on a circular walk which finished with a stretch of the coastal path leading into New Quay.

The walk was completed with lunch at the Penwig Hotel.

The first walk of the 2016 season took place on Saturday, January 23 when twenty two walkers accompanied by five dogs travelled just south of the Preseli Hills to the Llysyfran Reservoir and Country Park.

They took on the seven mile track and nature trail which encircles the reservoir. Despite a number of muddy patches following the recent rains the group thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the refreshments afterwards at the famous Tafarn Sinc, a pub and restaurant created on the site of the old Maenclochog railway station complete with renovated station platform.

The next walk on Saturday, February 13 will be a six mile circular walk in the Llandysul area, meeting at the town car park at 10.30am. Further details from Glyn on 01545 561285.
