MEMBERS of the public are now being given the chance to see the latest plans for the £20m health care centre that will replace the town's hospital.

Hywel Dda University Health Board says work on the new Cardigan Integrated Care Centre scheme has progressed significantly so it has a arranged a drop in session for the public.

The event will take place in the Guildhall, Cardigan on Friday, November 20 from 1pm to 5.30pm. There will be a display of information stands, together with representatives from a range of services to help people understand what services and benefits will be provided from the new centre.

In addition, members of the project’s design team will be available between 1pm and 4pm to talk about specific design aspects of the development.

Project Director Gill Davies said: “We are very keen to continue involving and engaging with the local community and our partners, including the Local Authority, GPs and local pharmacies, who have been integral to the development of this exciting project.

“This event will give people an opportunity to see the latest plans for the building and ask questions about the development, and I urge those who are interested to come along. We are planning similar events over the coming months and will share the details widely when the arrangements are finalised.”

The health board says the new centre will provide a 'one stop shop' approach to care services in purpose built premises. It will incorporate a full range of community health and social care services together with third sector services.

The scheme received 'outline business case approval' from the Welsh Government in June, with the full business case being developed and due to be submitted to the government.

A planning application has been lodged with Ceredigion County Council’s planning department for consideration and can be accessed online using the reference number A150846.
