Ceredigion’s local heroes were recognised for their bravery, generosity and dedication in the first ever Radio Ceredigion Local Hero Awards, supported by Willmott Dixon.
Winners were invited to a glitzy awards ceremony at the Royal Pier, Aberystwyth on Thursday, September 24, hosted by Radio Ceredigion’s presenters Helen Enser Morgan and Gareth Morris.
Elen Hopkins Radio Ceredigion Sales Director said: "We have heard some truly inspirational stories with all winners going above and beyond for either their family or community.’
"It just goes to show what some people are prepared to do for their communities and the courage that some people show.
"This is the first time we have organised an event like this in Ceredigion and we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of nominations and I know that the judges had a particularly difficult time choosing the eventual winners."
Thirteen local heroes were honoured, including George Barratt for Contribution to the Community, Helen Jones for Mum of the Year and Richard Coombs for the Good Neighbour Award
Thanks again for all the category sponsors and the main sponsor, Willmott Dixon for their support.
