FROM homemade jams and pickles to bara brith and scrumptious cakes, the recent Crymych Food Festival, celebrating its 15th year, was a huge success.

Held at two locations in the village – with the food stalls and competitions at the Village Hall and crafts at Maes Ploveilh, around 35 stallholders attended the event.

"Considering the weather, we had quite a good turnout," explained one of the organisers, Rhidian Evans from Menter Iaith Sir Benfro. "As the festival is divided into two locations it can be difficult for some people to travel to both especially with the heavy rain, but it was a great day and we had several demonstrations throughout the event."

Mari Grug, the television presenter returned to her roots with Heno – the daily magazine programme and the cooking demonstrations were presented by two local chefs - Rhydian Jones of Talgarreg and Manon Rees of Y Garreg Las Caffi in Crymych.

Llinos Twigg from Cardigan gave a wonderful floral demonstration with proceeds from the raffle of her finished items being donated to Cancer Research UK.

Aeres James brought a selection of corn dollies and delighted the audiences.

Several competitions were held during the day with competitions for juniors and seniors as well as a cooking competition in conjunction with Ysgol y Preseli with Phoebe Twigg and Gwen Griffiths exhibiting their masterpieces.

Plans are now afoot to organise the 2016 Food Festival.
