Lowri Williams achieves big at the Tivyside show winning the Beltex Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion.

She had been farming pedigree Texel sheep alongside her late grandfather and has now taken it on with her father and uncle.

They have been continuously successful throughout the years with Texels under Caron Texels and in December 2013 she decided to buy her first Beltex sheep.

She lambed twins last year and triplets this year and Lowri is a registered Beltex breeder with her flock Rhyd Beltex.

Lowri currently studies Agriculture at Aberystwyth University, hoping to graduate with honours next year; explaining also that showing sheep is her interest and passion and is excited to expand her flock.

On her win at the Tivyside Show she said: “I was overwhelmed and shocked to win the Beltex Champion with my yearling ewe Rhyd Wendy and to go on to win reserve supreme champion.

“This has given me the incentive to carry on with the flock and to expand as a Beltex breeder. I hope to in the near future go on to do well in shows and to learn as I go on and eventually produce a good flock of Beltex Sheep.”
