A local resident has expressed concern over hedge cuttings on the road down to Mwnt Beach.
Jenny Linfoot contacted the Tivyside Advertiser asking how the Council could justify the destruction of the 'beautiful' wildflowers .
She took photographs of the before and after effect of the Councils hedge cutting process.
When asked about their decision to do this they responded by saying: "The Council cuts its verges to preserve road safety. The minor roads in the Mwnt area are first to become overgrown due to the nature of the high hedgerows. The Council has reduced the level of grass cutting in recent years and now aims to cut its verges only once a year. The richness of wildflowers contained within the highway green estate is to a large extent the result of the way that this estate has been managed over the years.”
