The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority recently re-elected Cllr Mike James as its Chairman.

He was elected by Members at the Annual General Meeting of the National Park Authority at its head office in Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock on Wednesday 17 June.

Authority Member Mr David Ellis is the new Vice Chairman, taking over the role previously held by Mr Ted Sangster.

Speaking after his re-election Cllr James said: ā€œIā€™d like to thank Members for their continued support. I have thoroughly enjoyed my two years as Chairman and look forward to working with Members and officers to lead the Authority through the challenges it faces in the coming year.ā€

During his time as Chairman, Cllr James has represented the Park Authority on the Executive Committee of National Parks Wales and the UK Association of National Park Authorities.

He is also a representative on the WLGA Council and has provided evidence on behalf of the Authority to the Williams Commission and the ongoing Review of Designated Landscapes in Wales.

Cllr James, who is from St Dogmaels, joined the Authority in 2010 and was elected Vice-Chairman of the National Park Authority in 2012.

At the meeting Mrs Gwyneth Hayward was re-elected Chairman of the Development Management Committee, with Cllr Rob Lewis re-elected as Vice Chairman.
